Causes of Genital Warts
Genital warts develop when the HPV virus spreads from an infected person to an uninfected person via skin-to-skin contact during sexual relations. People can potentially get genital warts from an infected person when engaging in sexual intercourse, genital touching and giving or receiving oral sex.
Some people have no symptoms and are unaware they have genital warts, but they can still spread the virus through sexual contact. Symptoms of genital warts may take weeks, months or years to appear.1‘Genital Warts: HPV, STD, Symptoms, Causes, Treatment.’ Cleveland Clinic, my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/4209-genital-warts
